  • What to bring:
    Swimwear, a towel, comfortable shoes, a hat and marine-friendly sunscreen, a camera and spending money.

    Conditions:
    Child rates apply for 4-14 years. Infants 0-3 years travel free of charge. Family rate applies for 2 adults and 2 children. Drones are not permitted. Snorkelling can be a strenuous activity. Please use caution and inform our crew of any medical conditions. A Government Environmental Management Charge is payable by all adults and children 4 years and over entering the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area. Wheelchair facilities are available; however, there are some restrictions, and some mobility may be required. ‍

    Green Island: For travel to Green Island, there may be a few steps at the end of the gangway onto the jetty, depending on tide levels and the narrow gangways used when disembarking. To board the glass bottom boat, there are some steps into this vessel, and some mobility will be required. Green Island does have disabled toilet facilities and boardwalk pathways in the day visitor facilities that are easy for wheelchairs to access. There is also a boardwalk that takes you directly through the rainforest into the centre of the Island. A beach wheelchair is available from the Lifeguards to access the beach. It is not a flotation device and is only for use on the beach. A carer must be responsible and in attendance at all times. Please contact our office for further information. The glass-bottom boat is only accessible via a number of steps.

    ‍Outer Reef Platform: Access from the vessel to the platform is via some steps. There are also steps into the underwater observatory and semi-submersible vessel, and mobility is required. Vessel dependent, there may be an accessible toilet on the reef vessel; there are no toilets on the platform. We recommend you call or give as much detail as possible via email so we are able to advise you accordingly.

    Scuba Doo: Certain medical conditions, medications, and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional in-water activities. For advice, contact our office.
    This activity is conducted by operators other than Great Adventures.

    Scenic Helicopter Flight:
    Individual passenger weights and accompanying carry-on luggage MUST be advised at the time of booking. Weight variances greater than 10% may incur an additional fee. Maximum single-seat payload of 130kg. For passenger comfort and aircraft weight and balance, passengers exceeding 130kg are required to purchase an additional seat at 50% of the ticket price, payable to Nautilus Aviation on the day of travel.

    Diving:
    The minimum age for Scuba Diving is 12 years. Certain medical conditions, medications and height restrictions may preclude some people from participating in optional in-water activities. For advice, contact our reservations team. After a single dive, a wait of 12 hours is recommended before ascending to an altitude of 300 meters or greater. If doing multiple dives, an interval of 24 hours is suggested. Diving can be a strenuous activity. Please use caution and inform our crew of any medical conditions.

5 Hours Island & Reef Time! The complete reef and island experience awaits with this exciting tour. Take a fast 45-minute catamaran ride to beautiful Green Island and enjoy 2 hours on this unique reef and rain forest coral cay. Then, you’ll depart Green Island to continue your day of adventure and discovery with 3 hours on board Great Adventures' spacious activity platform moored on the majestic Outer Great Barrier Reef.

Green Island:
Green Island is a beautiful 6000-year-old coral cay located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park – a premier world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Grab your snorkel gear and head to the lifeguard-patrolled beach to explore the marine world off the beach, take a stroll through the unique tropical rainforest, laze on the white coral sand beach or take part in some of the optional activities that Green Island has to offer. Some Activities may not be available due to time constraints.

Great Barrier Reef:
The stable reef activity platform is the perfect base for swimmers and non-swimmers to explore. Snorkel and/or dive, visit the underwater observatory, cruise in a semi-sub or just relax on the sundeck with a delicious buffet lunch. The vibrant marine life of the reef awaits you. In addition to your included activities, Great Adventures’ activity platform also has a wide range of optional activities to choose from. Some Activities may not be available due to time constraints.

Discover your Day:
From 07:30: Check in at the Great Adventures Reservations Counter inside the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal to obtain your boarding pass.
08:00: Vessel boarding. Complimentary morning tea/coffee served on boarding. For your safety, hot drinks are not served once the vessel is underway.
08:30: Depart Reef Fleet Terminal for Green Island.
09:15: Arrive Green Island. 2 hours free time to explore Green Island. Included snorkel gear (fins, mask and snorkel) can be obtained from the Dive Shop on the island. Enjoy a leisurely island walk with the self-guided Eco Island Walk or take a dip in the island swimming pool. On arrival, pre-booked optional activities, including scuba diving, Seawalker helmet diving, commence as advised.
11:20: Re-board vessel for departure to the Great Barrier Reef platform. Cake selection is served on the forward journey. During your journey to the reef, a Reef Presentation is shown on the vessel’s monitors. Snorkelling demonstration by the crew.
12:30: Arrive at the Outer Great Barrier Reef platform. Reef activities commence. Semi-submersible coral viewing tour with informative commentary departs every 30 minutes or as advised. Snorkel directly from the platform. Collect your snorkel gear and buoyancy vests once on the platform. The underwater observatory is open throughout the day for coral and fish viewing. Fish Feeding presentation with the marine biologist, time as advised. Eco Reef Talk with the marine biologist in the underwater observatory, time as advised. Pre-booked optional activities, including introductory diving, Scuba-Doo and scenic helicopter flight, commence as advised.
13:00 - 14:30: Hot and cold buffet lunch is served. Time for more reef activities or just relax on the sundeck and take in the views! Tea and coffee are available whilst at the platform.
15:30: A blast on the ship’s horn will signal the time when all passengers should return to the vessel ready for departure.
15:40: A passenger count is conducted before leaving the Reef. Crew will announce when this commences, and we ask all passengers to co-operate during this very important procedure by not moving about the vessel.
15:45: Departure to Cairns via Green Island. Complimentary cheese and biscuits are served on the homeward journey.
17:30: Arrive at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal
