  • Located in the heart of the Kuranda Heritage Markets, Kuranda Koala Gardens is a boutique wildlife park showcasing an adorable collection of iconic Australian animals. Meet wallabies, wombats, quokkas, gliders and freshwater crocodiles — and while the park may be small, it’s big on personality and cuteness.

One of the few places in Queensland where you can pat a koala for a souvenir photo (additional cost, limited availability), this popular experience is available for individuals, couples and families. For something a little different, pose with one of the park’s large, friendly pythons (additional cost).

Explore the unique Aussie Bush Collection, where marsupials and reptiles share the same habitat — from Long-nosed Potoroos to Bearded Dragons and Blue Tongue Lizards.

Don’t miss the Tablelands’ only nocturnal exhibit, offering a rare chance to see night-active animals such as the Greater Bilby, Northern Bettong and gliders up close.
